I took one of those workbooks and ran a vb script to unhide any hidden or super-hidden sheets which had no effect. No one else has access to these files. I also have a client with the same issue. It is not a perfect recovery tool, but one more to be added to the arsenal. Each days work is always saved to a different dated file which has missing. It turned out that the user had used a shortcut which pointed to a version of the spreadsheet on the desktop which they were updating on a daily basis.

I have a checklist of the cell changes required and every morning I have to to recheck the previous days work before I can continue updating. There are no events on the server, just one day noticed that last week's work was lost, and the last correct previous version was a week's old.
